Swingset

OK so my kids wanted a swing set. Me being the mom that I am went out and bought a swing set, however, this is not your everyday ordinary swing set. I wandered into Home Depot and looked at their selections- I could have chosen from a bunch of "build-your-own" swing sets. I could have just bought the box of accessories and hardware needed and then purchased the wood I would need and then took it home, cut it myself and screwed it all together. Did I do this ??? NO! I did not. Instead, I saw this box, it had an aura of light around it singing, buy me, buy me. I turned the box around and behold "BUILD AND PLAY IN ONE DAY" it came with all the accessories, hardware and wood, cedar none the less, cut to size and ready to assemble. No cutting, no mistaking the length of the boards, I was sold. I was unsure of how they exactly fit this entire swing set, disassembled, with pre-cut wood into that one box... I would later find out.I went home, told Jason to go pick it up and last weekend was the "BUILD AND PLAY IN ONE DAY" weekend. Jason went and picked it up and jeez, wouldn't you know it- there were 4 boxes, not the one that I had previously assumed contained the entire contents. First thing Saturday morning, we unloaded all 4 boxes and starred at the contents, "This can't be that hard- there's directions. YEAH RIGHT !! This is where it would have helped me to have paid attention in my Spanish classes in high school, because the English directions were pictures only. The Spanish directions had actual directions under the picture. The whole "Build and Play in one day" is a bunch of shi shi (thanks Chrissy for that word). With 8 people it took us 2 full days to put this GIGANTIC piece of play set together. I am now convinced that Home Depot really meant that it would take 24 FULL hours to put this together. After 2 days and much swearing its together and the kids LOVE IT! So it really makes it all worth it, however, I heard whimpering and almost crying when Jason got the Home Depot credit card bill. Yes it was a bit more expensive than the other ones, but no one lost a finger because we had to cut the wood ourselves. Here is our piece De' resistance':

How did I get convinced ??

Blogging- not something I was remotely interested in until I realized that the "MySpace" craze has slowly moved on and now everyone is blogging. As if working 2 jobs, raising 2 kids and trying to get my graduate degree isn't enough, I have now added blogger to my list of duties. Maybe its because I keep seeing all of my friends really great sites, maybe its because I have an insatiable need to have one more thing to do. Maybe I just want to test the limits of my available time in the day. Who knows. Anyways- here I am ... blogging.
